Common Uses

Our heavy-duty misprint fertiliser sacks are suitable for:

  • Garden waste
  • Grass cuttings
  • Leaves and hedge trimmings
  • Weeds and plant material
  • Small branches and twigs
  • Landscaping waste
  • Compostable garden material
  • Soil and compost in manageable quantities
  • Building debris
  • Packaging offcuts
  • Workshop waste
  • Warehouse waste
  • Factory offcuts
  • Commercial refuse
  • Storage and separation tasks
  • Bulky lightweight materials
  • Non-hazardous maintenance waste
  • General household and workplace clearance

Always consider the complete weight, shape and condition of the contents. Although the sacks use heavy-duty material, exposed sharp edges, excessive loads and abrasive debris may still puncture or damage them.

Misprint Heavy-Duty Sacks

Our heavy-duty misprint fertiliser sacks provide a practical and economical solution for collecting, storing and moving suitable garden, landscaping, building and commercial materials.

Each sack measures 530mm x 850mm and uses 480-gauge / approximately 120-micron material. This heavy-duty specification makes the sacks suitable for more demanding applications than a conventional lightweight refuse bag.

The sacks were originally manufactured with fertiliser-related printing but became available as misprint stock. Therefore, the printed design, wording, colour, registration and general appearance may vary.

The misprinted finish does not affect their usefulness for applications where appearance and consistent branding are unimportant. Consequently, they offer a cost-effective option for gardeners, landscapers, builders, maintenance teams, warehouses and other users requiring practical heavy-duty sacks.

We supply these sacks in packs of 10 bags.

Size and Specification of Misprint Heavy Duty Sacks

The product specification is:

  • Nominal metric size: 530mm x 850mm
  • Approximate imperial size: 20.9 x 33.5 inches
  • Measurement order: width x height
  • Material thickness: 480 gauge
  • Approximate thickness: 120 microns
  • Format: flat open-top sack
  • Duty: heavy duty
  • Appearance: assorted fertiliser-related misprints
  • Pack quantity: 10 sacks
  • Stock code: 1129
  • Listed pack weight: approximately 1.50kg

The stated measurements are nominal manufacturing dimensions. Therefore, small production tolerances may apply.

The imperial dimensions are approximate conversions from the metric specification. Use the millimetre measurements when you require the closest match.

Understanding the Measurements

The 530mm / approximately 20.9-inch measurement represents the width of the sack while it lies flat.

The 850mm / approximately 33.5-inch measurement represents the overall height from the sealed base to the open top.

These dimensions describe the flat sack rather than the size of a rigid three-dimensional container. As the sack fills, the contents use some of the available width and height.

Consequently, a rigid object measuring close to 530mm x 850mm may not fit comfortably. Always allow additional clearance around bulky, square or irregularly shaped contents.

You should also leave enough unused material at the top to gather, tie and handle the sack after filling.

480 Gauge / Approximately 120 Microns

These misprint fertiliser sacks use 480-gauge material, equivalent to approximately 120 microns.

This heavy-duty thickness provides a practical specification for suitable garden waste, building debris and demanding commercial applications.

However, gauge measures the approximate material thickness rather than guaranteeing a particular carrying capacity. Performance also depends on:

  • The formulation of the material
  • The construction of the seams
  • The total weight of the contents
  • How evenly the load is distributed
  • The presence of sharp or projecting edges
  • The density of the material being carried
  • The temperature of the contents
  • How the sack is filled
  • How far the sack is carried
  • Whether the sack is lifted or dragged
  • The condition of the sack before use
  • Whether the sack has previously been reused

A bulky item may fit inside while still being too heavy, rigid or abrasive for safe handling. Therefore, always consider the contents as well as the stated thickness.

Misprint Appearance

These products are sold as misprint sacks. Therefore, customers should expect inconsistencies in their printed appearance.

Variations may include:

  • Different fertiliser-related designs
  • Assorted print colours
  • Off-centre printing
  • Incomplete print
  • Print-registration differences
  • Colour variation
  • Marks or cosmetic imperfections
  • Different wording or branding
  • Printing on one or both sides
  • Differences between sacks within the same pack

The exact printed design cannot be selected or guaranteed. Product photographs provide examples only and may not show the particular print supplied with your order.

Choose these sacks for their practical function rather than their presentation. They may not be suitable where consistent colours, branding or printed information are required.

Existing Fertiliser Printing

The sacks may display wording, symbols or branding originally intended for fertiliser packaging.

This existing print does not mean that the sacks currently contain fertiliser. Furthermore, it does not confirm that they are suitable for repacking, selling or transporting fertiliser, chemicals or regulated agricultural products.

Do not rely on the printed information to identify the sack’s current contents. If you reuse the sacks, apply a clear label where necessary and make sure the original printing cannot cause confusion.

Businesses should complete their own risk assessment before using misprinted sacks in customer-facing, regulated or safety-sensitive environments.

Garden and Landscaping Applications

The heavy-duty material makes these sacks particularly useful for suitable garden and landscaping waste.

They can accommodate materials such as:

  • Grass cuttings
  • Leaves
  • Weeds
  • Hedge trimmings
  • Dead plants
  • Flower cuttings
  • Bark
  • Small twigs
  • Lightweight branches
  • Used compost
  • Plant pots without sharp edges
  • Empty gardening-product packaging

Allow wet garden waste to drain where appropriate before placing it into the sack. Water increases the weight of leaves, grass, soil and other organic materials considerably.

Do not force stiff branches through the opening. Cut them into manageable lengths and protect any pointed ends that could puncture the material.

Always check whether your local authority or garden-waste contractor accepts this type of sack before using it for a collection.

Building and Maintenance Applications

These sacks can also support suitable building, decorating and maintenance work.

Possible applications include collecting:

  • Wallpaper
  • Protective-film offcuts
  • Insulation offcuts
  • Empty packaging
  • Plastic wrapping
  • Cardboard pieces
  • Wood shavings
  • Sawdust in manageable quantities
  • Decorating materials
  • Lightweight broken products without sharp edges
  • General site-clearance waste

Although the sacks are described as suitable for building debris, this does not mean that they can safely contain unlimited quantities of rubble, bricks, concrete, tiles, soil or other dense materials.

Fill dense waste only to a manageable level. A partly filled sack of rubble may already be too heavy to lift safely.

Sharp pieces should be wrapped, placed inside a rigid container or handled using a more appropriate waste system.

Comparison with Compactor, Extractor and Rubble Sacks

These misprint fertiliser sacks have a size and heavy-duty thickness comparable with some compactor and rubble sacks.

However, product names do not guarantee identical construction or suitability.

Compactor and extractor sacks are usually selected to fit particular machines or containers. Meanwhile, rubble sacks may differ in size, seam construction, puncture resistance and rated performance.

Do not fit these sacks to compaction equipment unless the machine manufacturer confirms that the size and construction are suitable.

Similarly, do not assume that the sacks can hold every type or quantity of rubble simply because they use 480-gauge material.

Suitable Storage Applications

The sacks may provide temporary storage for appropriate dry, non-hazardous materials where consistent presentation is unnecessary.

Possible uses include storing:

  • Protective sheets
  • Cleaning cloths
  • Textile offcuts
  • Soft furnishings
  • Packaging materials
  • Plastic components
  • Gardening supplies
  • Dry workshop materials
  • Seasonal equipment
  • General household items

Make sure the contents are clean, cool and compatible with the sack material.

These are flexible sacks rather than rigid storage containers. Therefore, they do not protect fragile contents from crushing, impact or moisture.

Do not use them for valuable items requiring security, archival storage or controlled environmental conditions.

Materials These Sacks Should Not Contain

Do not use these sacks for:

  • Clinical or infectious waste
  • Asbestos-containing materials
  • Exposed needles or blades
  • Unprotected broken glass
  • Sharp metal offcuts
  • Hot ashes or embers
  • Heated equipment
  • Flammable substances
  • Solvents
  • Corrosive chemicals
  • Pesticides requiring regulated packaging
  • Free-flowing liquids
  • Leaking containers
  • Batteries requiring separate disposal
  • Electrical equipment
  • Pressurised containers
  • Waste requiring an approved or colour-coded sack
  • Materials requiring UN-certified packaging

Hazardous, clinical, sharp or chemically aggressive materials require suitable specialist containers and approved disposal procedures.

The open top does not create a watertight or leakproof closure. Therefore, never use these sacks to contain free-flowing liquids.

How to Choose the Correct Sack

Measure the complete width, depth and height of the materials or container before selecting a sack.

When using the sack as a bin liner, measure the outside of the container and allow enough material to extend around the opening. Also check that the sack reaches the base without being stretched tightly.

When filling the sack without a container, consider the shape and rigidity of the contents. Bulky materials use part of the available height as the sides move outwards.

Allow sufficient unused material above the contents so that the open top can be gathered and secured.

The 530mm width is measured while the sack lies flat. It does not represent the diameter of a cylindrical container or the width available after the bag has been filled.

If suitability is uncertain, request a sample before ordering a larger quantity.

How to Use the Misprint Heavy Duty Sacks

Remove one sack from the pack and locate the open end.

Separate the sides carefully without pulling sharply against the seams. Next, inspect the material for holes, cuts or other damage before adding the contents.

If using the sack inside a container, lower the sealed base towards the bottom. Position the material evenly and avoid stretching it tightly across the rim.

Check the container for exposed screws, damaged edges or rough surfaces that could catch the sack.

When using the sack independently, place it on a clean and stable surface while filling. Support it inside a suitable holder where necessary.

Filling the Sack Safely

Add suitable contents gradually and distribute their weight as evenly as possible.

Place flatter or heavier materials towards the bottom. Avoid dropping dense objects directly onto the base from a height, as the impact may damage the seam.

Protect sharp corners and projecting parts before placing them inside.

Never push waste down using your hands or feet. Hidden sharp objects may cause injury, while excessive pressure can puncture the material.

Stop filling before the contents reach the top edge. Leaving sufficient unused material makes the sack easier to gather, close and handle.

If the sack becomes too heavy, remove some of the contents or divide them between two bags.

Closing and Moving the Misprint Heavy Duty Sacks

Gather the open top carefully after filling.

Close it using a suitable sack tie, cable tie or knot where enough material remains. These sacks do not include an integral drawstring or adhesive closure, so separate ties may be required.

Before lifting, inspect the sack for punctures, stretching or seam damage.

Support the base when the contents are bulky or moderately heavy. Do not rely entirely on the gathered top when moving a filled sack.

Never drag the sack across concrete, gravel, rough flooring or external surfaces. Abrasion can damage the material even when the contents are otherwise suitable.

Use a trolley, barrow or appropriate lifting equipment where the filled sack cannot be handled safely by one person.

Reusing Misprint Heavy Duty Sacks

The heavy-duty construction may allow the sacks to be reused when they remain clean, dry and undamaged.

Before reusing a sack, inspect:

  • The sealed base
  • The side edges
  • The area around the opening
  • Any creases or stretched sections
  • Previous punctures or repairs
  • Contamination from earlier contents
  • The clarity and accuracy of any new labelling

Do not reuse a sack that has contained hazardous, contaminated or unknown materials.

The original fertiliser-related printing may be misleading when the sack is reused. Apply clear identification where necessary and do not use the sack in circumstances where the old print could create a safety or regulatory risk.

Reuse does not guarantee the same performance as the first use. Consequently, use a new sack where reliability is particularly important.

Supplied in Packs of 10 Misprint Heavy Duty Sacks

We supply these heavy-duty misprint fertiliser sacks in packs of 10 bags.

This smaller pack quantity allows gardeners, builders, maintenance teams and occasional users to purchase a practical quantity without committing to a complete bulk carton.

It also gives businesses an opportunity to assess the size and specification before ordering further packs.

The sales unit contains 10 individual sacks. Therefore, enter the required number of 10-sack packs when placing your order.

Store unused packs in a clean, dry stock area away from heat, direct sunlight and sharp objects.

Why Choose Our Misprint Heavy Duty Sacks?

Our misprint fertiliser sacks combine a heavy-duty specification, practical 530mm x 850mm size and economical pack quantity.

The 480-gauge / approximately 120-micron material suits demanding garden, landscaping, maintenance and general commercial applications.

Additionally, using misprinted stock gives the sacks a useful purpose despite their inconsistent printed appearance. This makes them a practical choice where performance matters more than presentation.

Their open-top design allows straightforward filling, while packs of 10 provide a manageable quantity for both occasional and regular users.

What Are Misprint Heavy Duty Sacks Also Known As?

Food Contact Information

These misprint sacks are intended for garden, building, storage and general-purpose applications.

Do not use them to store, wrap or transport unpackaged food unless current product documentation explicitly confirms suitability for direct food contact.

The fertiliser-related print and previous intended application do not demonstrate compliance with food-contact requirements.

The sacks may carry food products already enclosed within suitable, sealed primary packaging, provided the contents are clean and compatible with the sack.

If you require confirmation for a particular application or need a Food Safety Certificate, please email sales@expresspackaging.co.uk before ordering.

PPWR Compliance Information

Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on Packaging and Packaging Waste, commonly known as the PPWR, applies from 12 August 2026 to packaging placed on the EU market.

We can provide available product specifications and supporting information to help customers complete their compliance assessments. However, heavy-duty construction, reuse potential or the use of surplus misprinted stock does not independently confirm full PPWR compliance.

The responsible economic operator must assess the product and its intended use against all applicable requirements, including packaging minimisation, substances of concern, material composition, recycled content, reuse, recyclability, labelling and technical documentation.

Customers intending to place these products on the EU market should email sales@expresspackaging.co.uk to request the latest available documentation and confirm suitability before making an environmental, recyclability or PPWR compliance claim.

Material and Responsible Disposal

Where a sack remains clean and undamaged, consider reusing it for another suitable application before disposal.

The current product specification does not confirm a particular percentage of recycled content. Therefore, do not make a recycled-content claim unless supporting documentation provides the relevant information.

Clean, unused sacks may suit a specialist flexible-plastic recycling service, depending on their material composition and the facilities available in your area.

However, many household kerbside collections do not accept plastic sacks or flexible films. Contamination with soil, garden waste, chemicals, liquids or building debris may also prevent recycling.

Always follow the guidance provided by your local authority, facilities manager or commercial waste contractor.

Important Safety Information

Keep unused sacks away from babies and young children because flexible bag material can present a suffocation risk. Never use the sacks as toys, protective clothing or bedding.

Store the sacks in a clean and dry location away from direct heat, naked flames and prolonged sunlight.

Never place hot ashes, embers or heated objects into the sacks.

Do not overload the bags or use them for contents that exceed the capability of the material or seams. Protect the sacks from sharp corners, broken objects and abrasive surfaces.

Before lifting, inspect the sack for punctures, stretching or other damage. Support the base when carrying bulky or heavy contents.

Follow appropriate manual-handling procedures. If a filled sack is too heavy or awkward for one person, divide the contents or use suitable handling equipment.

Sample Requests of Misprint Heavy Duty Sacks

To request a sample, please email sales@expresspackaging.co.uk or call 0121 622 2347.

A small charge applies only to sample bags wider than 600mm. As these sacks have a nominal width of 530mm, this width-related sample charge should not apply. Our sales team will confirm the sample arrangements before sending it.

Illustration Only

Garden waste, building materials, tools, containers and accessories shown in our product images demonstrate potential applications only and are not included with the sacks.

The printed appearance may differ significantly from the product photographs because the sacks are supplied from assorted misprinted stock.

The exact design, print colour, wording and print position cannot be selected or guaranteed.

Contents vary in size, shape, density and weight. Therefore, check the sack carefully before use and make sure the intended materials can be filled, closed and handled safely.
