Clear Vacuum Bags – 260 Gauge / 65 Micron
Our clear vacuum pouches provide a reliable packaging solution for food-processing, catering, hospitality, medical and commercial applications. Manufactured from a combination of polythene and nylon, these 260 gauge / 65 micron vacuum bags offer a high moisture barrier and help protect their contents from air, moisture and external contamination.
Each pouch features thick seals along three sides and an open end for quick and convenient filling. After placing the product inside, the open end can be sealed using compatible vacuum-packaging equipment. Removing excess air creates compact packaging that improves product presentation and can help maintain the quality and storage life of suitable foods.
The transparent material keeps the contents clearly visible, allowing staff to identify products without opening the pouch. This makes stock organisation, portion control and product inspection easier in busy kitchens, production areas, warehouses and medical environments.
Although most customers use these pouches for vacuum packing, they can also serve as ordinary open-ended bags when vacuum sealing is not required.
High-Barrier Vacuum Bags For Packaging
The combination of polythene and nylon gives these vacuum-sealer pouches excellent barrier properties. Nylon adds strength and helps limit the transfer of oxygen, while polythene contributes sealing performance and moisture resistance.
Once filled and correctly sealed, the pouch forms a waterproof package that helps protect its contents from leaks, moisture and external contaminants. Vacuum packing also reduces the amount of air surrounding the product, which can help minimise oxidation and preserve the appearance, texture and quality of suitable foods.
However, vacuum packaging does not sterilise food or make perishable products shelf stable. Always follow appropriate food-hygiene, refrigeration, freezing and use-by-date procedures. Storage life depends on the food, preparation method, temperature, hygiene controls and quality of the seal.

Measurements are shown as width × length.
The imperial measurements are approximate conversions from the metric pouch sizes. Please use the millimetre dimensions when an exact fit is required.
How to Choose the Correct Vacuum Bag Size
Measure the complete width, length and depth of the product before selecting a pouch. The product should fit comfortably inside without stretching the material or placing excessive pressure on the side seals.
Allow additional space at the open end for positioning inside the vacuum sealer and creating a complete seal. The sealing area must remain flat, clean and dry. Food, grease, moisture or creases across the sealing area may prevent the machine from creating a reliable seal.
Bulky and irregularly shaped products require more space than flat items. If the product is close to the maximum pouch dimensions, choose the next available size to provide sufficient room for filling and sealing.
Take care when packing products with sharp bones, corners or edges. These may puncture the film during vacuum extraction. Use suitable bone guards or protective materials where required, or choose alternative packaging designed for sharp products.
Vacuum Bags Sealer Compatibility
These smooth vacuum pouches suit compatible commercial vacuum-sealing equipment. Smooth pouches commonly work with chamber vacuum sealers, which remove air from the complete chamber before sealing the open end.
They may not work correctly with every external suction or domestic vacuum-sealing machine. Many external suction machines require embossed, textured or channelled vacuum bags so that air can escape during the sealing cycle.
Always check your vacuum sealer’s operating instructions and bag specifications before ordering. If you are unsure whether these pouches suit your machine, request a sample and carry out a sealing test.
Seal temperature, vacuum time and cooling time vary between machines. Follow the equipment manufacturer’s recommended settings and inspect every seal before storing or distributing the packed product.
How to Use Vacuum Bags
Place the product inside the pouch without overfilling it. Leave enough unused material at the open end for the vacuum machine to grip and seal the pouch correctly.
Keep the inside and outside of the sealing area free from food, oil, grease and moisture. Position the pouch flat across the sealing bar, making sure there are no folds or creases.
Run the appropriate vacuum-and-seal cycle for the product and equipment. Once complete, inspect the seal across its full width. A secure seal should appear continuous and even, without gaps, wrinkles or contamination.
Label the pouch with the product description, packing date, use-by date, batch information and storage instructions where required. Place perishable products into suitable refrigerated or frozen storage immediately after packing.
Not Suitable for Boiling
These vacuum pouches are not suitable for boiling. Do not place them in boiling water or use them for boil-in-the-bag cooking.
They should not be described or used as sous-vide cooking pouches unless written product documentation confirms suitability for the exact temperature, time and cooking process required.
If you need packaging for cooking, pasteurisation, hot filling or reheating, contact our sales team before ordering. They can help confirm whether an alternative product is available for your application.
Why Choose Our Clear Vacuum Bags?
Our vacuum pouches combine high clarity, dependable sealing and excellent moisture-barrier performance. Their polythene-and-nylon construction provides the flexibility and protection required for many commercial vacuum-packaging applications.
The clear finish supports product inspection and presentation, while the range of sizes helps businesses package different portions and products efficiently. Packs of 100 suit smaller users and occasional requirements, while boxes of 500 or 1,000 provide a convenient option for higher-volume operations.
These vacuum storage pouches are a practical choice for food processors, butchers, fishmongers, delicatessens, commercial kitchens, caterers, hospitality businesses and medical-product suppliers.

Food Safety and Storage Information
These pouches are intended for applications including cooked meat, fish and prepared meals. However, the customer must confirm that the selected pouch suits the food, storage temperature, sealing equipment and intended period of use.
Vacuum packaging can slow certain forms of food deterioration, but it does not replace refrigeration, freezing or established food-safety procedures. Always prepare and pack food in hygienic conditions and follow applicable food-handling guidance.
Do not use a pouch if it becomes punctured, damaged or incorrectly sealed. Avoid reusing pouches that have held raw meat, fish or other products where reuse could create a hygiene or cross-contamination risk.
If you require a Food Safety Certificate or technical specification, please email sales@expresspackaging.co.uk before ordering. Our sales team will provide the latest available documentation and help confirm suitability for your application.
PPWR Compliance Information
Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on Packaging and Packaging Waste, commonly known as the PPWR, applies to packaging placed on the EU market. Material specifications and supporting product documentation are available to help customers complete their compliance assessments.
However, the material specification or intended use alone does not confirm full PPWR compliance. The responsible economic operator must assess the finished packaging and its intended application against all relevant requirements, including packaging minimisation, substances of concern, recyclability, labelling and technical documentation.
As these vacuum pouches combine polythene and nylon, their multilayer construction should form part of the recyclability assessment. Customers intending to place these products on the EU market should email sales@expresspackaging.co.uk to request the latest available documentation and confirm suitability before making a PPWR compliance claim.
Vacuum Bags Material and Responsible Disposal
These vacuum pouches use a combination of polythene and nylon to provide their sealing and high-barrier properties. This multilayer construction may not be accepted through standard polythene-film recycling collections.
Recycling facilities and acceptance criteria vary between local authorities and commercial waste providers. Check with your waste contractor to confirm whether it can process multilayer PA/PE vacuum pouches.
Food-contaminated packaging may require a different disposal route from clean commercial film. Empty the pouch fully and follow local waste-management guidance.
Important Safety Information
Keep vacuum pouches and other plastic packaging away from babies and young children because plastic film can present a suffocation hazard. These bags are not toys.
Keep the pouches away from naked flames, direct heat and temperatures outside their confirmed operating range. These vacuum bags are not suitable for boiling.
Vacuum-packed food must still be stored at the correct temperature. Do not consume food from packaging that appears swollen, punctured, leaking or incorrectly sealed.
Sample Requests
